For an internationally operating organization within the automotive industry, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer . In this role, you will be responsible for the development of complex mechanical modules for applications with high requirements in terms of robustness, quality, and reliability.
You will work in a multidisciplinary environment and be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle — from initial customer inquiry and concept development to validation and successful introduction into mass production. In addition, you will contribute to innovation and technology development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer, system, and regulatory requirements into mechanical and process specifications
- Design mechanical components and modules using 3D/2D CAD tools, in close cooperation with suppliers
- Perform verification, validation, and release of mechanical designs and components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during quotation and project phases
- Interface with international suppliers to define and optimize component functionality
- Support smooth transition from development to series production
- Contribute to concept development, innovation, and long-term technology direction
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline
- Extensive experience in mechanical design within product or technology development environments
- Proven experience with CAD systems (preferably Creo/Windchill or similar)
- Experience in industries with high quality and reliability standards (e.g. automotive, high-tech) is a plus
- Strong conceptual thinking skills and affinity with innovation
- Experience with plastic (including cosmetic parts) and metal components is preferred
- Excellent command of the English language (German is a plus)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Proactive, structured, and result-driven working style
- Willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis
