Are you ready to join our Big Capital Services department?
The Big Capital Engineer will report into the Big Capital Services department, Service Operations EMEA organization. You will serve as a key role in pro-actively identifying issues in returned capital equipment and identify the repair path for each piece of equipment or provide installation support. You will work closely with the cross-functional groups to ensure that the issues are robustly investigated using core engineering principles.
This position is responsible for ensuring that root causes are correctively identified, proposing corrective actions that will eliminate failure modes, ensuring corrective action compliance with Quality and Regulatory requirements, and documenting your results in technical summaries. Additionally, the Big Capital Engineer will work with Post Market Vigilance to proactively identify any emerging trends and provide technical council to management about these trends and their risk to the business.
You will develop processes for the testing, rework, repair, and disposition of all Service Returned products for the Big Capital OU’s. You may perform service and repair of designated electronic or mechanical products in the most efficient manner, adhering to established quality standards. You may work with the OU’s Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality teams, including the Complaint department to determine product failures. You will also be responsible for complying with all local and global policies and procedures.
In this role you will work in an independent team with limited supervision on a various range of responsibilities for Big Capital OU’s;

A Day in the Life
Installation support
• Performs various duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. To ensure full system compliance on big capital equipment by performing full functional testing before shipping to customer.
• Tests, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, and systems.
• Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
• Performs calibration and alignment checks; adjusts, modifies, and completes part replacements as directed.
• Return inventory movements, triage, preparation for failure analysis, and tracking of return inventory locations.
• Support lab activities including crating/uncrating high level assemblies, spare parts, and other activities as assigned.
• Gather and share installation support data to respective OU.
• Remote support to field service organization.

Must Haves
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in the medical device industry with key technologies and processes related to the assembly and manufacture of Class II or III devices.
• Experience in leading and serving in a technical role for Failure Analysis or Reliability Engineering.
• Experience with Big Capital platform or complex mechanical system.

Nice to Haves
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to engineering, especially product development, manufacturing engineering, and failure modes.
• Experience with a variety of software packages, e.g, Agile, SAP, etc
